The Surelines Brand to Generic and Generic to Brand dictionaries are essential additions to any dispensary.

They enable dispensers to endorse generically, therefore reducing prescribing costs and increasing dispensary profits.

The Complete Dispenser - 5th Edition
Virtually every aspect of dispensing is closely covered, from the recent changes in the regulations, through equipping the dispensary, maintaining stocks and the finances of dispensing practice.

This is followed by chapters on the maintanence of high standards leading up to the very strong case in favour of doctor dispensing. The book ends with a fascinating history of dispensing over the past two centuries.

All dispensing GP’s, dispensary assistants and practice managers should have at least one copy of The Complete Dispenser to hand at all times.

Controlled Drugs in Primary Care: The Law, Probity and Good Practice

With the issues surrounding the use of Controlled Drugs in general practice adopting such a high profile in the wake of the Shipman Inquiry, Nigel Morleys book provides invaluable information in this complex area.

It is concise yet comprehensive, including highlighting differences in legislation in the four countries of the UK. The layout of the chapters, dealing first with the law followed by a description of good practice makes it particularly user friendly.

New version due late 2010 / early 2011.

Standard Operating Procedures
From the 1st January 2005, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which comply with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society recommendations, become mandatory for community and hospital pharmacies.

The implementation of SOPs form part of clinical governance and risk management.

They will assist practices to:
• Establish a point of reference
• Allow continued improvements to standards of service

SOPs are available in electronic and paper format.
